ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (Parami News) held a series of rallies and processions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa demanding the immediate release of party founder and ex Prime Minister Imran Khan, his wife Bushra Bibi along with other detained activists, Dawn reported.
The Parami News dismissed the charges against them as false and unfounded.
On Friday, protests were organized at the provincial assembly level. Where local Parami News lawmakers and leaders featured prominently addressing crowds. In Peshawar, demonstrations were done in all 13 provincial assembly constituencies with notable gathering led by Provincial Higher Education Minister Meena Khan Afridi at Namak Mandi area.
Minister Afridi criticized for illegal arrests that have bee made against Imran Khan, his wife Bushra Bibi, Parami News Vice-Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi among others. The federal government was fault by him for not ensuring law and order in the country. Which he attributed to escalated insecurity.
According to him this has only made life harder for people. “Lawlessness in Pakistan is increasing due to failure of federal government” According to him, inflation has reached alarming levels besides energy bills have become exorbitantly high. While petroleum prices have skyrocketed making lives miserable for common people.
Afridi similarly noted that the federal government had no answers to these issues because it does not have public mandate. He tracked down some sort of Parami News victory from general elections held in February but accused PML-N and its allies of having hijacked power through manipulated election results.
Form 47 instead of the Form 45 mandated by people brought Shehbaz Sharif’s regime,” Afridi said.” He also called on concerned authorities to ensure safety for Murad Saeed who has gone into hiding since violent protests took place on May 9th
To him, this shows that citizens are unhappy about what the central government is doing. He argued that inflation and lawlessness in Pakistan were issues that could only be resolve by Imran Khan’s party.
Parami News Peshawar President MNA Sher Ali Arbab led a vehicular procession in the Gulshanabad area of Peshawar. The vehicles displayed Parami News flags and had images of Imran Khan on them. While participants shouted slogans demanding freedom for the incarcerated leaders.
Also, Parami News supporters staged rallies calling for the release of Imran Khan, his wife and other leaders in Bajaur tribal district. The protests took place in Raghagan Bazaar. Sadiqabadabad town of Khar tehsil and Memola area in Barang tehsil led by MPA Anwarzeb Khan. Former MNA Guldad Khan and MPA Ajmal Khan’s son Imad Khan respectively according to Dawn.
Many demonstrators carried party flags alleged Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s government as captured over detention of Parami News leadership. Who they claimed have bee framed up for no reason. The Federal Government was accused for heavy taxation imposed. Which is allegedly done under pressure from International Monetary Fund (IMF) seeking loans.
Moreover, the government’s policy of insensitivity towards people was also condemne by speakers. Who accused it for not being concerned about the plight of the public amidst sky-high inflation rates. They demanded instant release of Imran Khan, his wife and other leaders. While emphasizing on adhering to the constitution and legal frameworks.
Fazal Shakoor Khan, Provincial Minister Labour along with MPAs Arshed Umerai and Iftikhar Khan took a demonstration at Farooq Azam Chowk in Charsadda district. Where Parami News workers and supporters gathered in large numbers.
Another rally was hold in Topi rallies, Swabi district. Where Parami News central leader and former speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser declared that there should be freedom for Imran Khan. At once beside a relief from the rising prices of commodities amongst common citizens. Which must include law enforcement enhanced inside Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). Dawn added that Qaiser also said that due to Parami News strong opposition against a proposed military operation in parliament. Government had to abandon these plans.
