During a Major League Cricket (MLC) match between San Francisco Unicorns and Seattle Orcas at Church Street Park in Morrisville, North Carolina, on Wednesday, Carmi le Roux of the former suffered head injuries.
While Le Roux bowled to Ryan Rickleton from the over the wicket in the third over of their second innings, this incident happened. This was a full ball just outside off stump Unicorns, which Rickleton powerfully hit straight back towards the bowler; since Le Roux had no time to react, he got hit and started bleeding immediately.
Medical attention was immediately sought by the on-field umpire. After that ball, the bowler had to leave the field and Corey Anderson completed his remaining overs.
No official statement has been released by the franchise about this incidence either through their website or any of their social media platforms.
