Opposition to the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2024 was on full display on Friday (September 13, 2023). Day’s history in this matter is unimportant since it refers to the imposition of the task to discuss QR codes printed on paper, and flex banners that were either displayed in masjids or put outside the masjids situated in Hyderabad. Many of the parishioners who came to pray that Friday and many other people walking by scanned these codes as these prompted them to send emails directing them to attach a pre-composed letter addressed to the Joint Parliamentary Committee opposing the Bill.
Q R Code has been released by the All India Muslim Personal Law Board which consists of leading Muslim clergy, politicians, and professionals. Most of the Muslims institutions and individuals accepted this.
AIMIM also supported the campaign of All India Muslim Personal Law board, which was against the passage of the Bill. As per the announcement made by the Hyderabadi parliament member, Asaduddin Owaissi, AIMIM members including legislators, corporators, and other political office holders were deployed to different mosques within their respective constituency. They advocated for the public toexpress their objections to the Bill.
Also, we witnessed incidents of individuals, holding flex-banners on the roadside attempting to persuade the drivers to stop and scan the Q R code. The submissions regarding the Bill were presented on the Friday of (sermon). The Q R code was also placed in the giaz yard adjacent to the historical Mecca Masjid. Same way announcements have been carried out in the other major places of worship as the Masjid-e-Ghous-us-Saqlain in kalapather. The announcement was made by Maulana Husamuddin Sami at the Jama Masjid Darul Shifa. A number of volunteers were engaged in distribution of flyers to the mass explaining the Bill and reminding them that the September 13 was the deadline for occupation or comments.
As such, however, because of the toileting ante’s many plural responses to the Joint Parliamentary Committee that they were prompted users, some ‘delivery incomplete’ notices were received. “The user you are trying to contact has a full mailbox. Unfortunately, no additional messages can be delivered until the user deletes some messages from their mailbox. Please try again later. If necessary these notes went on, when the User is next able to receive mail”.
AIMPLB President Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani and Mr Owaisi visited Mr. A Revanth Reddy, who held the position of the Chief Minister of Telangana. He tried to make them understand regarding the adverse impact that the approval of the Bill, if it is passed, will create within the Muslim community which otherwise surrounded him allied. Mr Owaisi previously asserted that this legislation violates the rights of believers. He even went so far as to conclude that the Bill was no different than making it illegal for Muslims to practice their religion in public.
