If the pace trio of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj stay fit for most of the series, India have a really good chance to have their third straight Test series win over Australia, according to former Indian opener Wasim Jaffer.
The first Test of Border-Gavaskar Trophy will be played at Perth on 22nd November.
India defeated Australia in the last two away tours in 2018-19 and 2020-21.
Jaffer while replying to a fan’s question about whether India can do it this time told that fitness and availability of Bumrah, Shami and Siraj is important for India throughout the series.
“If Bumrah, Shami and Siraj stay fit and are able to play most of the series, India have a great opportunity for a hat-trick down under. Arshdeep could bring the left-arm option. And Mayank Yadav dark horse provided he’s fit and available,” said Jaffer.
He also said that left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh could be very useful in this regard.
The first match is scheduled at Perth Stadium followed by Adelaide Oval as venue for second Test from December 6th through 10th with Adelaide being a day-night test fixture.
Brisbane’s Gabba Stadium will host the third test match running from December 14th through 18th.
The fourth test which is always held on Boxing Day will be at Melbourne Cricket Ground or MCG between December 26th to 30th
This will be rounded off by Sydney Cricket Ground where last game is slated on January 3rd till January 7th hence concluding an exciting tour.
