A Single Window Committee (SWC) has accorded in principle approval on investment proposals amounting ₹4671.81 crores within the renewable energy sector in the state of Odisha.
In the seventh meeting of the SWC under the chairmanship of Hemant Sharma, the principal secretary of the energy department, this SWC granted in principle approval to renewable energy projects of 749.5MW which includes OHPC’s 600MW pumped storage plant PSP project in Kalahandi district, ONGC Tripura Power Company Ltd’s three wind power projects aggregating to 148.5MW located in Nabarang Pur, Khordha and Jagatsinghpur districts and a 1.4MW rooftop Solar Power plant located in Bhubaneswar.
“The objective of the government is quite clear that it will push further the development of renewable energy projects in the state of Odisha. Up to this day, the SWC has given in principle approval for proposals worth ₹8395.38 crore for applications with total capacity of 1249.38 MW within the renewable sector’’, said Energy Department in a statement.
The department said the investments would help increase the proportion of cleaner and greener energy brave and more decisive projects that help the state of energy strive to meet its renewable disaster resiliency targets of 10 GW by the year 2030.
