Online backlash hit English cricketing equipment and apparel manufacturer Gray-Nicolls following a hilarious comment about MS Dhoni, the former Indian captain.
When England played West Indies in the Test series, wicketkeepers Jamie Smith (England) and Josh Da Silva (West Indies) were seen wearing Gray Nicolls gloves. The brand then made a Facebook post saying: “How can you be called a wicketkeeper if you do not use Gray-Nicolls? Brilliant to see Jamie Smith and Josh Da Silva behind in the ongoing test series. The healing of nature.”

One fan asked surprisingly, “You know someone called M S DHONI?” The company cheekily replied “not heard of them.” As a result, his supporters soon filled the comments section with disapproval.

A fan retorted that “It’s not them, btw I can understand as you can’t afford him.” Another follower commented that “That’s why only temporary Wk are using Gray Nicolls.” This response showed how much fans respected Dhoni’s career and his superlative keeping abilities.
The man known as ‘Captain Cool’, M.S Dhoni is one of cricket’s greatest ever captains and batsmen; he was also one of its finest keepers. His lightening quick stumpings have amazed both fans and players alike time after time as well as incredible reflexes behind the stumps.
Perhaps the most impressive thing about him is how quickly he dismisses batsman by removing the bails before they even realize it. Stumpings look simple when Dhoni does it but batsmen barely get enough time to react before he has whipped off their bails. Being very quick in thinking on his feet, he has been able to make stumpings appear like child play.
Dhoni’s calm mannerisms behind the stumps allow his bowlers to remain focused and confident. He always keeps that smile on his face no matter how tense things get and his teammates gain from his tranquility. Dhoni’s wicketkeeping skills combine pace, accuracy and cricketing intelligence making him one of the best keepers in the history of the game.
