Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has suspended Niroshan Dickwella, a Sri Lankan wicketkeeper-batter, for anti-doping allegations during the Lankan Premier League (LPL).
The suspension is immediate and will last until further notice.
According to reports, this happened when Dickwella was leading Galle Marvels in the final stages of LPL 2024.
“Effective immediately the suspension will be in effect till further notice. The test was conducted by Sri Lanka Anti-Doping Agency (SLADA) during Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2024 as part of SLC’s continued commitment towards safeguarding the integrity of the game,” reads an extract from SLC’s statement.
“This move has been pursued in collaboration with Ministry of Sports in line with the guidelines set by World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), aimed at ensuring that cricket remains free from any banned substances.”
For his bad disciplinary record, he had previously been summoned by SLC again.
