The first look of Neetu Chandra’s hattricker, Bhojpuri film kariyatthi directed by the National award winning Nitin Neera Chandra Choudhary has been unveiled by the actress-producer – Neetu Chandra. While being the presenter and producer of the film, the actress posted the beautiful poster on her social media only emphasizing how passionate she was towards this beautiful project.

As the title says, Kariyatthi which is unfortunate, is based on the short story written by Saroj Singh, who touches on sensitive aspects like skin colour prejudice, and female foeticide, and constructs a story around colourize and female foeticide. The impressionistic poster provided a hint of a tale that is bound to strike a chord with the viewers along with the screenplay based on realistic events, sufficient to touch many social issues.

With the strategy to make sure that the message gets out to as many people as possible, the film is to be launched in more than one language. Starring the likes of national school of drama graduate Annu Priya and Deepak Singh, Kariyatthi is complete and scheduled for release early next year.

Neetu Chandra remarked, “Societal concerns are dealt with here and look for an objective where people pledge to take action and make films on discrimination and gender. My aspiration is to raise the standard of films done in the languages of Bihar and take them global. My region is home to many languages, and I am focused to promote their importance and make sure that they are appreciated as they should.”

Director Nitin Neera Chandra explained, “My aim is to bring about a change in society through storytelling, and the stories engage the audiences and make them think. Here is a film, Kariyatthi, which I am confident can help tackle pressing social issues using a sensitive and compassionate approach and that one is sure will leave the viewers thinking after the show.”

This is their fourth film after Deswa, Mithila Makhaan and Jackson Halt. Though his last release Jackson Halt was appreciated for its exciting thriller plot, Mithila Makhaan won a national award as the best Maithili language feature film solidifying their remarkable cinematic career.

Currently Neetu Chandra is in the US on tour for her musical show Umraao Jaan. Her last film was with the Sony Motion Pictures franchise Never Back Down Revolt.
