The heavy rain situation in the city has caused the postponement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Pune.
Mr. Modi was supposed to flag off a metro train for hire in Pune on Thursday (September 26, 2024) before initiating a few development projects worth more than ₹22,600 crore.
They say that the opening of the Metro section from District Court to Swargate will be the end of Phase-1 of the Pune Metro Rail Project according to the officials. This underground stretch of the Metro between the District Court and Swargate will cost approximately ₹ 1810 crore.
Suhas Diwase, the Collector of Pune District, declared a holiday for all schools and colleges in Pune city as well as in Pimpri Chinchwad on Thursday on account of the heavy rainfall which was teased to happen by IMD.
Maharashtra Rangoli Chhavi Kumar has issued an orange alert in every district of Pune.
Earlier on the day, IMD announced a red alert for the districts of Thane, Palghar, and Raigad, in regard to the forecast of Valley Rain on 26th September over Ratnagiri Valley 2023.
