According to sources who spoke with Geo News, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has refused to provide Naseem Shah with the No Objection Certificate (NOC) for The Hundred due to workload management.
The source told Geo News that they did not grant an NOC as a precautionary measure after scrutinizing his application on behalf of the Pakistani cricketer.
However, in spite of playing for Pakistan in all three formats, Naseem’s application was rejected because he got injured and had fitness problems last year.
Additionally, in October 2023, Naseem went through an operation for his shoulder and this hindered him from participating in the 2023 ICC World Cup leading to Pakistan’s early exit at group stage.
Doctors advised him to take it easy for four or six weeks before he could return back on his feet. As a result of this injury he stayed out of play for at least three to four months.
In the next few months, there are going to be some crucial World Test Championship matches which will involve Pakistan. ANI states that Bangladesh will participate in a two-match Test series against them starting from August 21st.
Pakistan’s red ball coach Jason Gillespie already hinted about Shaheen Shah Afridi’s probable absence during the series?
A year ago, Shaheen and Ansha tied the knot and are expecting their firstborn. For this reason, He may miss out on Bangladesh test series next month.
“Shaheen can miss Bangladesh Test matches due to childbirth. We can give him [some] rest if he wants to stay with his wife till then,” said Pakistan’s Red-ball coach Jason Gillespie according to Geo News reportage.
Alongside red-ball cricket Australia will be hosting Pakistan again this November for some limited-over cricket.
