During a fundraising event on Sunday, Kamala Harris, the Vice President of the United States, made a snide remark concerning the national Republican’s frontrunner Donald Trump since she was proudly declaring the massive audiences she attracts while travelling for her presidential campaigns, AP news agency has reported.
More importantly, she sought to solidify her reputation in politically purplish places that include Arizona and Nevada and galloped to Nevada for a rally at the same venue where Trump spoke two weeks before. Trump has been in these states and made sure to attack her, particularly in the area of immigration.
On the one hand, Kamala Harris is well aware of what is at stake, but on the other hand, she appreciated the need to keep one’s expectations in check. “This is a margin of error election as I like to call it, but on this, I was confident in saying that the election is here, and let me clearly state that and make one thing clear, WE are going to win.”
She then hastened and said to the crowd, her voice round, “My crowds are pretty big. “ when she was about to address people in Nevada at the place which Tramp held the rally. In the course of the presidential debates, Kamala Harris got the better of Trump by claiming that many people were seen streaming out of the hall mid-way through the rally as Trump was there, making long incoherent speeches without any bearing on the need as none was there to listen to him. She has carried on with this approach on the trail in campaigning.
Her last stop in a four-day dash along the West Coast was in California, reported on the campaign funders in opposition states which demonstrate that the race for the White House is going to be close ‘neck to neck’.
During her first trip to the US-Mexico border in Douglas since becoming the Democratic nominee, it could be assumed that the purpose was immigration tackling. She has been under intense assault from Trump for days saying that she will allow a border porous enough to be called an “invasion” and such actions will bring chaos.
Kamala Harris laughed off the charges stating, “We just see the same old tired show from the same old tired playbook which some members of the audience shouted ‘boring’ in agreement.”
Integrally, the A-list fundraiser, which took place in LA, was completed with performances of Halle Bailey and Alanis Morissette and came with off screen stars of Stevie Wonder, Keegan-Michael Key, Sterling K. Brown, Demi Lovato and Jessica Alba. Harris has also generated support from Republicans as older members of Arizona Jeff Flake endorsing her is baffling how much he elate’s fine character and love of country.
Flake is one of the so-called Republicans that oppose all the Trump’s policies including Dick and Liz Cheny who support Harris. However, it remains to be seen how many of Harris’s critics such as Larry Hogan, a Republican Maryland candidate, will actually or potentially vote for her.
At a rally organized by Harris in Nevada on Sunday night, she repeated her promise to do away with federal taxes on tips earned by service industry workers. This is a promise which she also heard Trump making.
Motioning to a photograph of a tipped employer and employee, Harris pointed out, ‘In her deepest convictions, it is clear that benslesses ought to understand that this is one wage theft, or amenities where sub minimum wages are paid and the tenor and tips are used to make up the wage bill.’ Ted Pappageorge, secretary-treasurer of the Nevada Culinary Union announced, ‘That shows us she’s serious.’
Further, Kamala Harris will head back to Nevada on October 10 for a Hispanic town hall meeting and continue making a case for the relevance of the sixth electoral votes from the state in a closely contested election. Both Harris and Trump have been more active in that state of Nevada, demonstrating its importance in the race for President.
