New Delhi: Former Head Coach Ravi Shastri Two debutants have been confirmed, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shivam Dubeycrucial to India’s aspirations in the upcoming men’s tournament T20 World Cup In 2024, it will be held in the Caribbean and the United States in June.
Both players have been named in India’s 15-man squad for the tournament and Shastri highlighted their potential to have a big impact on the team’s performance.
Jaiswal showcased his exceptional batting prowess and set a record score during the ICC World Test Championship series against England, earning him a spot in the T20 squad.Meanwhile, Dube showed explosive batting ability in the game intense pulsed lighthe hit 26 sixes in 11 games, underlining his current form and the potential value he brings to the Indian team.

“You have to watch out for these two gentlemen, both are left-handed and are playing in their first World Cup,” Shastri told the ICC.
“One of them is (Yashasvi) Jaiswal. We know a lot about him, he did really well against England, he’s top of the rankings, he’s left-handed, he’s young, he’s fearless and he will Shoot.
Shastri then picked Dube as another player to watch out for in the Indian team.
“But there’s a guy in the middle, keep an eye on (him) because he’s explosive, he’s devastating and he’s a match-winner. He hits sixes for fun and when it comes to spin bowling , he can kill you,” Shastri said.
“He’ll hit a few balls from Long Island to Little Island, that’s the kind of player he is. He hits the ball big, he hits it long, and like I said, against spin, he can kill you.
“Even against fast bowlers, he has developed his game, he understands the way the ball is played and I think he holds the key at number five and six because if you are in a slump, you want someone to change it20 -25 goals, he is a player worth looking for.
Dubey’s standout performance in IPL 2024 lies in his excellent strike rate of 170.73 and an impressive batting average of over 40. The ability to contribute to the bat’s speed is great.
The left-hander was highly praised by Shastri, who felt that Dube’s big knock could lead to a huge total for India in the match.
“His strike rate is close to 200 most of the time and that will help India a lot going forward to get those 190s, 200s needed for big tournaments, especially tournaments like the (T20) World Cup.
“So enjoy it and keep an eye on this lefty — he’s big, he’s got a long ball, and he can hit it long.”
