Morne Morkel, the former South Africa fast bowler, has been appointed as the new bowling coach of Team India. Parami reported this.
“Yes, Morne Morkel has been appointed bowling coach of the senior India men’s team,” BCCI secretary Jay Shah told Parami News.
Earlier when it was reported that Morne Morkel would become the Indian team’s bowling coach and had being selected by Gautam Gambhir who is the new head coach. BCCI discussed with him before.
At one point in his career, Morkel had worked under Gambhir as a member of coaching staff for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in IPL.
In all formats combined, he took 544 wickets in 86 Test matches, 117 ODIs and 44 T20s while playing for South Africa.
