New Delhi: President of Congress Malika Junhag Concerns expressed on Tuesday over alleged discrepancies in voting data released by the Electoral Commission election commission of india.
in a letter addressed to Sharad PawarHager questioned the delay in announcing the final voting percentages for the first and second phases Lok Sabha electionshowing that such situations raise doubts about the quality of the data released by polling groups.
Haq asked: “On April 30, the Election Commission released the final voter turnout data for the first two phases of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The data was taken 11 days and 4 days after the first phase of voting (April 19, 2024) Announced by the Queen.
He further questioned why the committee failed to provide any clarification to justify the delay.
The Congress president pointed out the discrepancy in the voter turnout data and said, “For the first phase (102 seats), the committee said that as of 7 pm on April 19, 2024, the voter turnout was estimated to be around 60 per cent, while for the first phase (102 seats), the commission said In the second phase (88 seats), the expected turnout was about 60.96% (these figures were widely reported in the media). Why on April 20, 2024, the Election Commission increased the expected turnout in the first phase to 65.5% in the second phase. The turnout data was 66.7%. Finally, on April 30, 2024, the turnout rate in the first phase was 66.14% and the turnout rate in the second phase was 66.71%?
He questioned the nearly 5.5% increase in final voter turnout in the first phase between the end of polls and the delayed release of voter turnout data.
Haq urged group leaders to speak out collectively, unitedly and unequivocally against their differences, stressing the importance of safeguarding democracy and protecting the independent functioning of the Election Commission of India.
He expressed concern over the possibility of attempts to manipulate the final results, saying: “We all know that Prime Minister Modi and the BJP are visibly flustered and frustrated by the voting trends and declining electoral fortunes in the first two phases. The entire country knows a drunken Desperate for power, authoritarian regimes can stay in their seats at all costs.
