Savage had been one among several players who bagged lots of runs which is good because we do not want them doing it tomorrow when we are playing. We have some other players like Milind who scored about twenty-five today, which is important for tomorrow.” Calvin Savage is one of those guys, he’s quite handy with the bat, so we just thought let’s give him an opportunity right now early on; if he gets a chance later on then that will be great. I thought my boys were going to play well today because everyone wants them fresh again,” said Faf Du Plessis, captain, Texas Super Kings.
“We gave some rest to our boys so as part of managing their freshness. Also, some others needed time at bat. Otherwise we would be lying if said that we didn’t have tomorrow in mind at all. Our main aim was to try and bowl to this guy at the back end, looking forward to tomorrow’s plans. You could see from anyone out there today that we were all trying to sort things out for tomorrow,” he continued.
Texas Super Kings have already booked their place in the playoffs where they are scheduled to face MI New York in the Eliminator on Thursday at Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas.
