NEW DELHI: Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh on Monday slammed a fan for accusing India captain Rohit Sharma of leaking sensitive dressing room information, calling it a “dirty game.”
Harbhajan, who played 103 Tests, 236 ODIs, and 28 T20Is for India, taking over 700 international wickets, described Rohit as an “honest man.”

The controversy arose when a fan on social media alleged that Rohit had “leaked information with salt and pepper,” accusing the captain of fabricating a “fake narrative” against head coach Gautam Gambhir and his teammates.

Harbhajan, known for his outspoken nature, quickly dismissed the claim and demanded evidence.
“You seem like getting the information from dressing room. Who is your source? Shall I say it? I know who’s playing this dirty game by paying u guys to tweet about an honest man,” Harbhajan wrote.

In a separate tweet, Harbhajan delivered a sharp retort to another fan who suggested that leaders don’t “run away mid-way.”
“Main jaanta hu kaun bhaaga tha. Yaad dilau? Kaaran bhi bataaunga, rongte khade ho jaayenge (I know who ran away. Should I remind you? I can tell you the reason too, you’d get goosebumps),” Harbhajan replied.

Amid the growing off-field noise, Rohit Sharma, who stepped away from the Sydney Test due to a poor run of form, clarified the reason behind his absence during an interview on Day 2 of the SCG Test.
Speaking to Star Sports, Rohit said: “It doesn’t affect us because the players here are made of steel. We have tried our best to make players like this. See, we can’t control certain things, and we don’t want to fret about those things. We don’t want to waste time on it.”
Rohit had a disappointing series, scoring only 31 runs across three Tests at an average of 6.20, with a top score of 10.
