Sri Lanka Captain Chamari Athapaththu decided to bat first against Malaysia as they can see the semi-final in sight of this women’s Asia Cup.
Sri Lanka was changed by substituting four players from the team that beat Bangladesh two nights back. The bowling unit has been revamped with replacements for Sugandika Kumari, Udeshika Prabodhani and Achini Kulasuriya. They were traded with Ama Kanchana, Inoshi Priyadharshani and Sachini Nisansala respectively. In addition, Hasini Perera made way for Kawya Kavindi in the batting department.
Malaysia only had one change, bringing in 16 years old Nur Izzatul Syafiqa to make her international debut as an alternative to Jamahidiya Intan.
Thailand won convincingly on opening day against Malaysia who need a win here.
