The skipper of Sri Lanka, Charith Asalanka, won the toss and chose to bat first at the R Premadasa stadium in Colombo. The Indian captain, Rohit Sharma observed that it was a good wicket for batting.
Importantly, the T20I leg of this series had seen India dominate completely as they emerged victorious in all three matches played. However, the hosts are yet to play two other games with an opportunity to come back stronger.
