Hello and welcome to the action of Day 1 between India and South Africa. India and Proteas are set for a one-off test series, starting today in Chennai, after a lopsided ODI contest. The match with white ball was not easy to take for Proteas as they were all over the place in their three departments. They appeared raw when faced by pressure situations and some players did not perform well either. They will have to expect better fortunes from the red ball game as regards results on how they turn up.
On the other hand, India can step into this Test match with confidence. In terms of confidence, there is a player who has been soaring in seventh heaven these days – Smriti Mandhana. A couple of centuries following a 90-run innings in the third encounter will see her raring to go out again wearing whites. India as a whole has been steady and looks likely ahead of first ball of match
