The most productive quick bowler in the Test cricket history, James Anderson is understood to be preparing for his last international matches of this summer, according to reports from Britain.
Earlier this year during the England tour of India, James Anderson managed to become first fast bowler reaching 700 test wickets which was a unique feat.
As legendary Australian spinner Shane Warne gets ready for his last game with the England teamAnderson might still have an outside chance at breaking the record of 708 wickets.
According Brendan McCullum as quoted by The Guardian: “We are looking ahead and starting to plan for the next Ashes [in Australia] in 2025-26. So, it’s almost over for him.” The path to top 41 ends here!
It will include series against West Indies and Sri Lanka at home – including one at Old Trafford, Anderson’s home ground – that could well be his last match.
Reports indicate that McCallum flew from New Zealand down to UK in order to update Anderson about his future plans during a golfing tournament
He started playing Test cricket in May 2003, and has since made an impressive total of 187 appearances for England; besides this he also played One Day International (ODI) cricket (194 games) and T20 Internationals (19). He holds third place with his 700 wickets on the list of highest test wicket takers after Muttiah Muralitharan (800) and Warne(708).
