The Dambulla franchise, which is based in Los Angeles and is a civil engineering consulting firm has been acquired by a civil engineering consultancy company in Los Angeles, California according to the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC).
Formerly called Dambulla Thunders Team, it is now known as ‘this Sixers’.
Tamim Rahman, earlier owner of the franchise is British Bangladeshi who was apprehended for match-fixing leading to cancelation of the contract with his team.
Sequoia Consultants, Inc. based in Los Angeles, California has taken over ownership of the Dambulla franchise; this is one of the leading civil engineering consulting companies.
Mr. Priyanga De Silva owns fifty-one percent shares of the enterprise that he used to play U19 cricket for Sri Lanka in 1983 and currently features for United States Masters Over 60 Cricket Team.
Apart from being a non-profit organization head coach at Southern California Youth Cricket Association he possesses different enterprises within USA and Sri Lanka.
“My wish to be involved in cricket particularly Sri Lankan cricket led me to buy the Dambulla Sixers,” explained De Silva as he pointed out why he made it.
On July 1st, The fifth edition of Lanka Premier League will begin at Kandy, Dambulla and Colombo cities.
