Kedar Jadhav, the Indian cricketer announced his retirement from all forms of Cricket on Monday in a touching post via social media.
The Maharashtra batsman utilized MS Dhoni’s farewell note to make an announcement about his decision, evidencing their close friendship.
On Instagram, Jadhav shared a touching slideshow of photos capturing moments from his career while Kishore Kumar song played in the background.
Writing that “Thank You all for your love and support during my entire journey. Consider me retired from all forms of cricket after 1500 hrs IST,” Jadhav confirmed his retirement at 3 pm IST on Monday.
Jadhav also used the exact words that Dhoni had employed when he announced his shocking retirement on August 15, 2020.
Dhoni made an announcement using a two-line statement on Instagram exactly one year after playing for India at the ICC Cricket World Cup in England in 2019.
“Thanks a lot for ur love and support throughout. From 1929 hrs consider me as retired,” said Dhoni on Instagram with a picture slideshow of his career and one of his favorite songs playing in the background: Main Pal Do Pal Ka Shair Hoon
Kedar Jadhav played for Indian national team between 2014 and 2020 featuring in 73 ODIs and nine T20 Internationals. He has scored 1389 ODI runs at an above average strike rate (101.06) hitting six half centuries with two centuries over this period averaging around 42.09 per innings. And he has bowled in ODI matches taking twenty-seven wickets just by means of part-time spin bowling.
He has recorded one half century among other scores including three matches where he remained unbeaten out of six appearances he made so far.
Under Dhoni’s captainship, he thrived being instrumental with off-spin bowling together with batting abilities these past eight years. Jadhav played in the semi-finals of the 2019 World Cup.
