Bangalore: Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah Sunday ruled out the possibility of handing over the Prajwal Revanna sex tape case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), rejecting the BJP’s demand for a central probe. “They (BJP) have said that CBI stands for Corruption Investigation Bureau. Between 2008 and 2023, we demanded that so many cases be handed over to CBI. What moral right do they have to ask us to hand over cases to CBI? Siddaramaiah is here asked during a speech at a press conference.
The CM was quick to add that this did not mean he had no confidence in the CBI. “The CBI is an investigative agency. The SIT is also an investigative agency. Like any other investigative agency, I do have full faith in the CBI. If there is a case worthy of being handed over to the CBI, we will hand it over. The BJP has no say in our own state police Faith,” he said. Siddaramaiah defended the SIT and said the task force was performing its duties correctly while the BJP and JD(S) were trying to mislead people by making such demands.
