Jyotika, the South Indian film actress with a powerful portrayal She recently disclosed her journey and encounters in Hindi films. She made it public that although she ventured into Bollywood initially; she had no any Hindi film offer for 27 years, on “Doli Saja Ke Rakhna” starring Akshaye Khanna.
Considering the lack of opportunities Jyothika came up with some assumptions. Debut novel was the stepping stone to more opportunities. However, her first Hindi movie was not successful at the box office which she thinks affected her Profession It’s an ascending curve of bollywood.
Moreover Jyothika also pointed out that when she entered Bollywood at about the same time as others there were very many other actresses who opposed her career. Even though its first project was associated with a famous production house, it did not make any commercial sense. Therefore, instead of being discouraged by this poor performance at debut stage in bollywood movies, She had to switch off and concentrate on south indian cinema which still gave positive feedback even though her initial movies failed to perform well at box office.
Furthermore, the actress added that opinions about her lifestyle choices such as moving to Chennai and marrying hero Surya might have resulted in misimpression that she is not willing to move back home. Not a movie theater either. Jyothika stressed that it was never her intention to stay away from Bollywood but because of having gone without invites all these years.
Mixed feelings characterized Jyothika’s comeback through Shaitaan-her return trip into Hindi movies after Srikanth’. On day one of shooting for Srikanth she admits feeling scared due to long period of speaking English only since then.But playing role of a person from south India while doing Srikanth helped me feel closer to my roots hence making my coming back in Hollywood worthwhile.
Finally, Jyothika expressed gratitude for her journey in the film industry and the opportunity to restart her Bollywood career with a project that blends elements of South Indian and Hindi cinema.
