Ramesh declared on Saturday that the BJP, TDP and YSRCP had not honored their words contained in Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Bill. The Congress general secretary also said that this government of Modi at the Center broke its promise by not giving Andhra Pradesh special status it deserved.
The Act of 2014 (Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act 2014) divided Andhra Pradesh into Telangana and Seemandra. Since then, TDP has been ruling Andhra Pradesh.
“BJP, TDP and YSRCP have all failed to fulfill the promises made in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Bill, 2014,” Ramesh said on the floor of the house regarding AP Reorg Bill, 2014. Afterward, Manmohan Singh’s dreams became an unfulfilled vision.
He stated this when he was talking about demands from Andhra Pradesh for a special category status after bifurcation. “Venkaiah Naidu’s decisions together with those of PM Narendra Modi are now denied by Modi Sarkar,” he noted referring to Polavaram scheme under Manmohan Singh’s tenure as Prime Minister.
“Modi Sarkar has lost its allocation for funding”, he alleged. Ramesh also added that projects like new railway zone and agricultural university in AP have no place while Kadapa Steel Plant is missing out together with Kakinada Petroleum Complex.
While Dujrajupatnam port was termed “unusable” by him; Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Tirupati airports’ expansion were described as being “slowly moving forward”.
Ramesh went ahead to point out that progress along Vizag-Chennai Industrial Corridor is very slow.
“Andhra Pradesh will be delivered justice by Indian Union and Congress Party so that all promises made in Andhra Pradesu Reorganization Bill would be fulfilled”, he averred. The state has 25 Lok Sabha and 175 Assembly seats. Voters are expected to vote on May 13, the same day.
At the same time, voting will also take place for Telangana’s 17 Lok Sabha seats. For Andhra Pradesh elections, BJP is in alliance with TDP as well as Janasena of Pawan Kalyan.
