Following an injury to his finger sustained during training, Nuwan Thushara, the Sri Lankan paceman will not be part of the forthcoming three-match T20 International series against India.
According to PTI, last Wednesday the 29-year-old got a left thumb injury while he was fielding in practice.
Although this is his non-bowling hand that got injured badly enough to force him out for the upcoming three Twenty20 Internationals starting on Saturday in Pallekele.
Another pacer Dilshan Madushanka has been drafted in his place.
This is a big loss for the hosts as far as injuries were concerned; he had also been bowling well lately. The bowler was very good at the T20 World Cup which ended earlier this month where he finished as the best wicket-taker for his team.
Within these games, he took eight wickets at an economy of 5.62 with best figures of 4/18.
He came in for Dushmantha Chameera, who was unfit and Thushara was another Sri Lankan paceman who was ruled out before them.
