An official in charge made it known on Tuesday that detailed security measures have been put in place for the coming India-Bangladesh second Test match, which is to be played on September 27 at the International Green Park stadium in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
As per ACP Harish Chander, a written complaint was made on Monday against twenty members of the Akhilesh Bhartiya Hindu Mahasabha for attempting a ‘havan’ and a road blockade outside the stadium to protest the violence perpetrated against Hindus in Bangladesh.
The two cricket teams, India and Bangladesh, The police have said have has come up with a “fool-proof” strategy concerning the security for the two cricket teams which expect to arrive in the regime by Tuesday.
One of the additional police commissioners in Kanpur, Harish Chander, showed PTI the team was seeking the attention of the relevant authorities including sufficient police officers of senior ranks due to the nature of the game.
“We are making plans to ensure that we have enough force to maintain the security and order, and we are letting every inch of the security coverage to be reviewed to ensure that it stands up to all the requirements,” he added, PTI reports.
In this particular case, he said, they were in coordination with various authorities both at the federal and state level i.e. the state intelligence and the IB, in order to share relevant information concerning possible threats and their possible counter measures.
DCP (East) Shrawan Kumar Singh, who has been nominated as the nodal officer of the event, informed that the management has divided the Green Park stadium and Hotel Landmark into sectors, zones and sub-zones, with each of the sectors being managed by officials at the level of DCP, additional DCP and ACP.
Also, there is diversion of the traffic before the start of the actual match.
Rakesh Mishra, Vikas, Atul, Jaydeep, Vikas Gupta, Prashant Dheer, Ajay Rathore, Ashish, Brajesh and almost 10 other unnamed people were ascribed in the FIR.
The FIR under which he said the complaint has been made is against BNS sections of 189(2) (unlawful assembly), 191 (2) (riotous behaviour), 223 (disobedience to direction of a public servant) and 285 (obstruction or hurt to any person in any public place).
