On Saturday, the Asian Cricket Council has released an Invitation for Expressions of Interest (IEOI) document about a Men’s Asia Cup that India will host in 2025 in T20 format. This document is aimed at inviting submission of IEOI from interested parties for ACC Sponsorship Rights: 2024-2027.
Pakistan and Sri Lanka hosted the 2023 men’s Asia Cup, which was played over 50 overs.
The next men’s Asia cup edition, which will be held in ODI format will take place in Bangladesh in 2027. The six teams to participate in each tournament are Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka plus another team that emerges from a qualifying event resulting into a total of twelve matches per competition.
By this way, it is also expected that the following year’s women’s tournament (15 matches) would be held between different countries using T20 format. The final match of the Women’s Asia Cup occurred on Sunday at Dambulla with Sri Lanka winning the title by defeating India by eight wickets and claiming their first one since inception during the Men’s World Cup two years ago.
This period shall witness four editions of Under-19 men’s Asia Cup happening where every edition will hold 15 games.
“Please note that details herein including but not limited to schedules/dates/years/formats/venues regarding below noted tournaments are indicative/tentative and maybe subject to change at any time at sole discretion of ACC without any liability towards ACC whatsoever,” says the document.

26 Former Cricketers Get One-Time Benefit From ICA
In addition to this, Indian Cricketer Association decided to pay off one-time benefits to its members who comprise 26 ex-first class cricketers. Those players have played between ten to twenty-four first-class matches; they aged over seventy years old without receiving any gratis from BCCI or their state association. The decision was passed by ICA at its Board meeting on 12th March of this year.
“ICA is honored to be able to provide this one-time benefit to those members who have turned 70 and do not receive gratis or pension from either the BCCI or affiliated state associations,” said the International Cricket Association statement X on Monday.
“Even though my cricketing skills were not up-to-the-mark, I express my gratitude towards ICA for its gracious acknowledgment through this post. By offering the letter of appreciation and a welcoming bonus award, I thank ICA. Therefore, it feels honorable to me since they did it with all their hearts. Moreover, it has benefited old cricketers like us because of which we will never forget what they (ICA) did for us,” former Bengal first-class cricketer Probir Kumar Sur posted on ‘X.’
Also, there’s group health insurance (Rs 2.5 lakhs) offered by them to those players who played less than ten first-class matches and are not under BCCI medical reimbursement coverage.
