A man from India was arrested in the Canadian province of New Brunswick after an assault occurred called “groping people” at Moncton.
The Indian immigrant to Canada, 25, was walking around and touching strangers on July 7, according to the RCMP.
According to police, he has been roaming around the water park and touching people inappropriately. A minimum of twelve persons claimed that he touched them improperly with some being below sixteen years.
“When police arrived at the scene they found out that a male originally from India but now residing in Halifax had been walking around premises, however, and was groping people. At least twelve victims were identified, some of which were under the age of 16,” stated RCMP.
The suspect was located still on site by officers who subsequently took him into custody without recourse incident. He later released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Moncton Provincial Court on October 24.
“This remains as an active investigation as we are working hard to ascertain if there may be other victims,” said Sgt. Sylvette Hebert with Codiac Regional RCMP. “We are asking parents to talk with their children if they went to this location on July 7th. We also want people to understand that any time can have a sexual assault complaint filed against it; if you have experienced such behaviour please contact us so that your voice can be heard.”
