The Women’s Selection Committee has announced the Indian squad of 15 players for the upcoming 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. The ninth edition of the tournament will take place in the United Arab Emirates between October 3rd and October 20th. The competition will be held in Dubai and Sharjah.
India has been drawn in the first group, that is group A which features countries like Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
India’s squad for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024: Harmanpreet Kaur (C), Smriti Mandhana (VC), S. Verma, D. Sharma, J. Rodrigues, R. Ghosh ( wk), Yastika Bhatia (wk), Pooja Vastrakar, Arundhati Reddy, Renuka Singh Thakur, Dayalan Hemalatha, Asha Sobhana, Radha Yadav, Shreyanka Patil, Sajana Sajeevan.
Travelling Reserves: Uma Chetry (wk), Tanuja Kanwer, Saima Thakor
Non travelling Reserves: Raghvi Bist, Priya Mishra
The squad of india comprises youth and experienced professionals under the captaincy of Harmanpreet Kaur and vice-captaincy of Smriti Mandhana. Looking at the maiden edition of the tournament conducted in UAE, they are determined to put in a good effort and fight for the title.
*Note: Yastika Bhatia and Shreyanka Patil will have to pass a fitness test before travelling to enjoy the championship.
