How an Indian captain Rohit Sharma communicates and how careless he has been is one of those quirks that has always been joked about among the Indian players and is as famous as his pull shot among the fans. This topic came up in a recent conversation between wicket keeper exotic Rishabh Pant and Tamnay Bhatt an Indian YouTuber.
Whenever Rohit has been caught on the stump mic, his words have certainly made it back to social media with some of the most viewable posts being “agar koi garden mei ghoomta hua nazar aaya toh (if I find anyone who walk around as in a garden)”. On the other hand, his inability to recall events has become a healthy source of good natured mockery among the fans and players.
From the passports and iPads to asking for the playing eleven randomly at the toss and also forgetting what was said in the middle of a conversation, Rohit’s tendency to forget things is no longer a mystery.
When Rishabh Pant was asked on the show that since he already said he does understand Rohit, whether he understands the language of the body which he knows is how Rohit tries to convey: “Bhai depend karta hai. Ground ke context mei toh mai samajh jaaat hu, off the field kum aata hai samajh mei (I understand what Rohit says on the ground, but off the field I don’t).
At the same time, Pant spoke about another situation where he tried to makeZenesis Kohli fat at the time of IPL mentally.
He was quizzed in the chat about the reason behind trying to distract Virat Kohli during the IPL match played earlier this year between the Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers of Bengaluru.
So, while Kohli had positioned himself in the actual bathroom stalking the athletic way to him, Rishabh Pant on the other, behind the sightscreen up the stairs of the dressing room, rushed at him attempting to distract the batsman. This seemed to ‘irritate’ the batting superstar of the generation.
“It was one of the most critical games of the season for us and the result was really important. That was a match I won’t be playing, so I am just thinking, what, how to help from outside,” he added.
