In the ever-changing world of cricket, there is one player who stands out apart from others, and whom the whole world arguably acknowledges as the finest cricketer of this generation. That honour has been earned by the fast bowler, Jasprit Bumrah.
Bowlers in general come down the alley really quickly and end up in a stiff-arm throwing position which is certain to never make it to any coach’s textbook manual. And yet, Bumrah has not just managed to get away with that ridiculous motion and actually serve the purpose but also developed into a global menace to every batsman.
From the first time when he made it to the big stage back at the 2013 Indian Premier League when he played for the Mumbai Indians, the pacer from the state of Gujarat has not turned back and instead, has turned out to be a nightmare in all three formats of the game.
This social media video, it appears, is from Jasprit Bumrah’s debut year with the Mumbai Indians and shows a young boyish Bumrah warbling bitterly against ‘right arm medium’ tag used in the story about him.
“He is not right arm medium. I am right arm medium fast (Please go ahead and tell me what Orson Welles’s complaint was). No defense about the item slung around his waist. This is wrong)” were his parting shots as he sat down with the article.
Jasprit Bumrah was already into his second year in domestic cricket when he represented India for the first time in a 50-over match against Australia in January 2016. Within three days, he debuted in T20I and then wore the test cricketer’s outfit in Cape Town, south Africa in January 2018.
Up to this point, Bumrah has taken part in 36 Test matches for India and taken 159 wickets, 89 ODI matches with 149 dismissals and 70 T20I matches losing 89 wickets.
