On Sunday, India defeated Pakistan by six runs at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York, making a miraculous comeback that left Pakistani cricket fans heartbroken and crushed.
Pakistan, who bowled out India for 119 in 19 overs thanks to three wickets each from Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf and two from Mohammad Amir, were celebrating their team’s strong position on social media with several ‘feel good’ messages of Pakistan’s win.
However, they had not known that it was going to be another defeat for Pakistan in World Cup tournaments at the hands of Jasprit Bumrah (3/14) and Hardik Pandya (2/24).
In the shorter version of cricket, Sunday’s match was the 13th between these fiercest rivals with India winning ten out of them.
The sky was lit up by green spotlights as Pakistani banners flew across stands displaying names such as Shoaib Akhtar and Imran Khan. (33)
Midnight had not fallen yet but there was shouting, screaming, applause ringing through all over during early overs.
