On Thursday evening, the Indian cricket team’s victory parade took place in Mumbai. There was a burst of joy and celebrations in Mumbai as thousands of fans gathered on the streets to watch Indian cricket team’s victory parade.
Marine Drive, one of the most famous places in south Mumbai, was packed with people who wanted to see their heroes. Churchgate on Western Railways and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus on Central Railway route have been full of people coming from different parts of the city heading towards the southern part for procession.
In particular, however, India’s Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma noticed an overexcited fan. Presumably, he climbed a tree near him so as not to miss anything on the way. In an amusing manner, Kohli prompted Rohit’s attention towards this fan above them on a tree leading to instant good humor.
Patriotic slogans such as “Bharat Mata ki Jai,” “Vande Mataram,” “India India” filled up streets and stations because by waving Indian Tricolour flags while wearing blue jerseys similar to that of Team India they braved intermittent rains for just a peek at triumphant team members.
By nightfall already there were announcements asking people not to proceed any further down Marine Drive towards the sea face because it was already full.
Traffic stopped going towards Marine Drive by 4:45 pm leaving other roads in South Mumbai in chaos with bumper-to-bumper lines of vehicles stretching all along it a mile after another.
Afterwards, Team India went off into Wankhede Stadium where Captain Virat Kohli led his side around with T20 World Cup held high which added more to the whole atmosphere of exhilaration.
