James Anderson, England’s great cricket player from New Delhi, announced on Saturday that he will retire from the longest format after the first Test against West Indies at Lord’s in July.
Anderson, who will be 42 years old in July, is the best fast bowler of all time with England record wickets of 700 out of a total of 197 matches.
On all-time wicket taking list, Anderson only trails behind Muttiah Muralitharan (800) who is a Sri Lankan spinner and Australia’s Shane Warne (708).
In his statement, Anderson said: “It has been an amazing two decades representing my nation and playing a game that I have loved since I was a kid. I am going to miss being an English cricketer so much.”
However, as there is no other feeling like this one ever – i knew it was time for me to give up my place and let them live their dreams as i did.

England’s first Test match against the West Indies is planned for July 10 to14.
Sachin Tendulkar played more Tests than him when he retired but since making his debut for England in 2003, Anderson has gone on to play in 200 games.
He also played as many other formats namely Swing specialist Anderson featured in another 194 odis and therefore called it quits as for the international white ball cricket ranking year later where he went beyond Ian Botham‘s tally by dismissing English batsmen on three hundred eighty three occasions as well.
