Dinesh Karthik, formerly a cricketer for India, agrees with the young batter Shubman Gill’s brilliance, claims that greatness lies in him. Karthik also mentioned that it is for Gill’s own good that he would like to see him perform even better in tougher conditions.
When appearing on criteria Dinesh Karthik spoke about Gill’s capability for hitting six bouncing balls and used the hints of Gill’s technique being different than great hitters Kieron Pollard and Andre Russell.
“He’s got a wonderful style of hitting sixes,” he said Karthik. ” He is a tall man and has a longer lever, and with that backlift , he generates a lot of power. All the three clean sixes against Bangladesh in Chennai all of them were hit in the gap. There are two types of six-hitters. There are assessers hit sixes like pollard and russel who on correct positioning of fielder don’t bother at all and wipe the ball over the fence. And then the likes of Gill who try to use placement and get rid of the ball for a six.”Gill groused at his first change’s position for the longer format of the game but thoughed it capable of turning his bad situation into good one as he practiced hard. Three of these have been within his last five tests showing his level of self confidence and growth as a player.
Dinesh Karthik acknowledged Gill’s background and technical abilities and complemented the young man that in most aspects, his game was perfect.
“Every time I see Shubman Gill, I see greatness in him. It is only in tough situations that I will judge him, else there is literally nobody who can stop him,” Karthik elaborated. “The type of shots that he plays how he gets right on the top of the ball. Technically, such areas are less flawed. His work ethic is phenomenal, so I don’t understand what could be the reason for his failure in any format.”
Gill would be hoping to live up to his praise as barring any last-minute changes, India will be gearing up for some important games with Karthik’s words in mind.
