AAP convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday made it clear that the BJP will not form government on June 4 saying that if the Bloc takes over, the direction and destiny of the country will change.
He held his first roadshow of the Lok Sabha campaign in South and East Delhi constituencies with his Punjab counterpart Bhagwant Mann a day after being released from Tihar prison. When party leaders and workers congregated, both Kejriwal and Mann were seen boarding an open car to wave at people.
“I came straight to you after I got out of jail. I miss the people of Delhi so much. I want to thank thousands who prayed for me,” said Kejriwal at the end of the show.
Mann also claimed that Kejriwal “changed political direction of this country”. According to him, he would dictate national politics soon enough.
Kejriwal accused BJP during his second night long road show supporting AAP East Delhi candidate Kuldeep Kumar that they wanted to amend constitution and take reservation policy away.
In addition, he promised women that he would give them Rs.1000 monthly as gratuity which was announced in this year’s Delhi Budget.
Afterwards, Kejriwal attacked Modi government saying instead of counting its achievements in 10 years, it talked about ‘mangalsutra’.
Kejriwal recollected how Sunita Punjabi CM Bhagwant Mann visited him while in jail.
“When I was in jail my concern was welfare of people – I used to ask my Ministers how people were doing,” he recalled. “In jail I kept wondering what was my fault to be caught like this. Well those are some good schools and hospitals which are provided by me for people. Medical facilities provided by me for them .They (BJP) stopped my insulin for 15 days in jail.”
The AAP president said he was fighting “dictatorship” with all his strength.
“I need your support. This country has never accepted any dictators, and people have overthrown them. I come to ask for your support to fight against dictatorships,” he said.
Kejriwal made it clear that the Modi government will not be formed on June, 4th.
“They are losing seats everywhere, be it Karnataka or Haryana. In Punjab they will win nothing from; even in Delhi every seat will go to Indian bloc,” he alleged.
Delhi would become a full state if the India Bloc came to power according to him as CM of Delhi.
The BJP wants shut everything down and paralyze the Delhi government according to Kejriwal.
He remembered former ministers Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain from Tihar jail and claimed that they changed the face of schools and hospitals.
“Sisodia has changed the face of Delhi schools. He should be made Union Education Minister,” he said.
Finally, AAP volunteers carrying party flags and shouting slogans marched behind vehicles along narrow streets of Mehrauli in south Delhi campaigning for their candidate Sahi Ram Pehalwan.
Earlier in the day Kejriwal, who was granted interim bail by Supreme Court until June 1st, announced that he would start a nationwide campaign against “dictatorship”.
Punjab CM Man described this as “luckiest” moment for Delhi when within 24 hours of getting out on bail its dear leader is among people.
He thanked the people, “No one goes out of their homes for a political leader. But you stand with him and his family during the crisis.”
According to him, the idea of ending AAP by putting its leaders in prison was regarded as “endless”, the BJP assumed.
