Dalljiet Kaur, who is married to Indian businessman Nikhil Patel based in Kenya since March 2023, had a fairytale wedding in India. They have however been locked in a very intense divorce for quite some time with him. The actress came to India at the start of 2023 and accused her husband of infidelity. However, the actress amp up some drama on social media and admits that she went after the girl in Nikhil Patel’s life, Safeena Nazar.
During an Instagram Live session, Dalljiet Kaur asked, “Look, there are two questions in my head. The first is that if he was so happy carrying out all that he is doing today, then why did he go for marriage. In such case, may be, he wouldn’t have received this kind of publicity anyway.” She further elaborated more on the well-known saying that says that a woman has a rival in another woman’s life, “Second, jo log bolte hai na ke ek ladki hi ladki ki zindagi barbaad karti hai, sahi bolte hai (When people say that a woman is responsible for the destruction of another woman’s life, they are right).”
She went on to elaborate further, ‘Jab husband wife ke beech koi problems chal rahi ho when a husband and wife are dealing with their issues, they would obviously not be saying good things about each other but that doesn’t mean a third person gets a chance to fill that void and they shouldn’t do it either. It is morally wrong’.”
She interjected, talking about Safeena Nazar, “I will not bring her into this envelope of justice”. “Aap khud shaadi shuda ho, pati hai, 2 bachhe hai aur kisi aur ke pati ka void fill kar rahe ho (you are a married woman with two kids and you want to fill the void of someone else’s husband)? Why? Why will I have this question in my heart for all my life. ‘I do not think that she needed to do whatever she is doing. Kya pata, hoga unka koi reason shayad (Who knows, she might have a reason)’”.
For the unversed, best known for her performance in Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, Dalljiet Kaur was earlier married to Shalin Bhanot in 2009, and the couple have a son named Jaydon. They broke up in 2015 and then married Nikhil Patel in 2023. At this time, her divorce proceeding is under trial in the courts of Kenya, and the actress has also said that she will be back to her television profession pretty soon.
