LDF Independent MLA P.V. Anvar has been lambasted for becoming a ‘right wing mouthpiece’ by the senior CPI (M) leader P. Jayarajan. They accused him of engaging in their politics.

Mr. Jayarajan told reporters in Kannur on Friday (27th September 2024) that He does not understand why Mr. Anvar gives so many press meets and perhaps there ‘may be a conspiracy’ of this young MLA.

Mr. Jayarajan raised some concerns about Mr. Anvar, especially after the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that there is an investigation going on in relation to the written complaints by Mr. Anvar. He added that Mr. Anvar should not have issued anti Mr. Vijayan statements when investigations are not concluded.

‘It should also be noticed that, the Chief Minister has pointed out that there is no proof of any indictment against (political secretary) P. Sasi, but Mr. Anvar continues with the statements. That Mr. Jayarajan said.

Further, Mr. Jayarajan made it clear that Mr Anwar’s accusations against police, instances where he complained to the Chief Minister in writing had already led to Vigilance inquiry. As for these press meets, Mr. Jayarajan said, Mr. Anvar should have performed such activities only after the conclusion of the Pressure I mean the investigation which is currently underway.

The CPI (M) leader said that the allegations made by Mr. Anvar regarding the police officials being political aides of the RSS need to be investigated in great detail. In that context, Mr.

Jayarajan also sought to explain the controversy over the cremation of the former party leader Kodiyeri Balakrishnan as something that is the party’s collectively agreed on as it was a few years back. He confronted Mr. Anvar and made specific accusations of Mr. Anvar searching for dirt at the meetings of the political party and explained that he was not in contact with Mr.

Anvar during his trip to the Gulf in 2023. He further stated that Mr.Anwar’s allegations are not ones that would be supported or tipped towards party workers.
