The country’s cricket board has requested a security consultant from the Bangladesh government for their upcoming tour of Pakistan, according to Cricbuzz.
Meanwhile, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has been expressing its concern about safety of Indian team during ICC Champions Trophy next year in Pakistan. The BCCI is waiting for permission from the government before touring. “Security is also our primary concern; however we have scheduled the trip after knowing all these and when we received their assurances on security matters,” Jalal Yunus said on Wednesday to reporters about this issue.
“Additionally, at the same time we have asked for a security consultant from our government whom they will always be in touch with in relation to any security matters,” he added.
Bangladesh are set to play two Tests during their tour of Pakistan starting with a match at Rawalpindi on July 21 and then Karachi on August 30th as per Jalal.
None of the Bangladesh players have expressed any reservations about the tour, Jalal explained adding that teams which had recently visited Pakistan were satisfied with security arrangements put in place.
“I think you saw when Bangladesh went there for Asia Cup and it was state level security given by them hence that is why we agreed to go on this tour,” said Jalal.
“You may have observed that some other international teams have also come (to Pakistan) most recently and they came through very happily.”
