NEW DELHI: Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant added a dose of humour to a fan encounter on the streets of Australia, leaving cricket fans delighted.
In a video making rounds on social media, a fan, thrilled to bump into Pant, attempted to take a selfie video. Noticing the camera lens smudged, Pant quipped, “Clean the camera from the front.”
The fan promptly wiped the lens with his fingers and proceeded to record the cherished moment, expressing his joy, “Nice to meet you, man!”

The lighthearted exchange shows Pant’s trademark humour and down-to-earth nature, winning hearts online.
The second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia at Adelaide ended in disappointment for the visitors as Australia secured a dominant ten-wicket victory.

Despite a spirited 42 off 54 balls from Nitish Kumar Reddy and balanced knocks from KL Rahul and Shubman Gill, India could only muster 180 runs in their first innings.
Mitchell Starc notched up a six-fer, while Pat Cummins and Scott Boland led the charge with two wickets each, dismantling India’s batting lineup.

Rohit Sharma’s struggle continues

A steady partnership between Nathan McSweeney and Marnus Labuschagne laid a solid foundation before Travis Head unleashed an attacking innings. His blistering 140 off 141 balls, studded with 17 boundaries and four sixes, propelled Australia to 337, earning them a significant 157-run lead.
India’s second innings saw early struggles, with contributions from Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal providing glimmers of hope.
However, the middle-order, including Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, failed to deliver. Rishabh Pant, known for his counter-attacking acumen, scored a quickfire 28 off 31 balls but could not steer India out of trouble.
Cummins’s sensational five-wicket haul and support from Boland (3/51) and Starc (2/60) wrapped up India’s innings for 175, leaving Australia with a target of just 19 runs. Usman Khawaja and Nathan McSweeney chased it down comfortably in 3.2 overs, levelling 1-1 in the five-match series.
