India spinner Kuldeep Yadav, who is spending a short vacation with his family in Melbourne, recently paid a memorable visit to the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). He went to the stadium and stood next to the statue of his idol Shane Warne for a picture.
“Shane Warne was my hero and I had a very good relationship with him. Every time I think about Warnie it makes me teary-eyed – he feels more like a loss of one of my family members.”
According to IANS, before the five Test matches against Australia later this year, Kuldeep is looking forward to an epic cricket clash between two global cricket heavyweights.
“I love being here at Cricket Australia’s headquarters and iconic MCG. I am really excited about Border-Gavaskar Trophy and we expect good cricketing contest between Australia and India this year.”
He also gave credit to Indian cricket fans for their unwavering support by saying: “India cricket fans always support the team wherever they go. They will all come in their numbers for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy especially during Boxing Day Test.”
Whilst in Melbourne Kuldeep also visited Cricket Australia’s (CA) headquarters. This he mentioned through online chat with CEO Mr Nick Hockley from CA.
Cricket Australia discussed highlights of the Aussie summer as well as forthcoming tours of India and Pakistan for Kuldeep.
Australia and India are due to play their first Test match at Optus Stadium in Perth starting from November 22.
