The house is filled with tension as the countdown towards Bigg Boss OTT 3 final proceeds. Recently, Bigg Boss had a press conference right inside the house where journalists were invited to ask questions to the participants. This resulted in a relentless attack on Armaan Malik and Kritika Malik due to their manner of having more than one wife, leading into controversies even among the residents of the house thus making claims that it’s against women. In addition, at some point while discussing this matter co-contestant Ranvir Shorey mentioned how polygamous relationships have been allowed by showbiz and its viewers throughout history for many great personalities.
“Agar aap urban, elite, liberal hote jaise bahut hai jinke 2 biwi hai, main naam nahi lena chahta logon ke jo samjho film stars hai, urban elites hai, unpe itne judgemental shayad hi honge. Maine aapke sath time guzara hai (if you were urban, elite, liberal, there are many who have 2 wives. I don’t wanna take names but for example we have film stars who are urban elites. We may not be that judgemental towards them. I have spent with you guys), I don’t feel judgemental about it.” This left many wondering if Ranvir Shorey was referring to great personalities such as Dharmendra and Salman Khan’s father Salim Khan?
Salim Khan has publicly admitted that he maintains relationships with both Salma Khan and Helen; which has been publicly accepted and acknowledged as normal in Bollywood circles. Similarly, Dharmendra, the legendary actor has married Prakash Kaur and Hema Malini both of whom are openly known relations. In his comments about this, Ranvir Shorey never called these names out loud but he likened them with others like Armaan Malik and Kritika Malik.
He also took a moment to talk about respecting personal relationships founded on mutual understanding and agreement, no matter how unconventional they may be.
