Bengaluru police on Tuesday summoned Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president JP Nadda and the party’s IT cell chief Amit Malviya for “objectionable posts” posted by the party’s Karnataka unit. The investigating officer of the city’s Highland police station issued a notice to the BJP leader in the case regarding a video posted on social media website ‘X’.
The Investigating Officer of Bengaluru Heights Police issued a notice to the leaders on Wednesday.
They have one week to appear before the inquiry.

A senior police officer said a case was registered against the BJP leader under the Representation of the People Act and Section 505 (2) (speech creating or inciting enmity, hatred or ill-will between classes) of the Indian Penal Code.
In its complaint, KPCC cited a video uploaded on social media platform ‘X’ by an official Karnataka BJP account, allegedly on the instructions of Malviya at Nadda, Vijayendra and Karnataka Social Media Head Operating under the Bharatiya Janata Party, May 4.
