Actor Ayush Mehra is primed to make his first appearance at the 77th Annual Cannes Film Festival, joining other acclaimed Indian artists at the event. In an interview with News18 Showsha, Ayush expressed his excitement about representing India’s lively actors in such a remarkable platform.
Ayush Mehra is anxious for the debut of Cannes: “I’m not nervous at all.”
“Yes, it will be my first time walking on the red carpet in Cannes and I am very excited about it. It does not matter since this is a festival and I think that it’s home for me. As an actor myself, there are so many iconic personalities who I looked up to while growing up. It feels like la la land,” he added, underscoring the surreal nature of what lays ahead.
He was particularly looking forward to several screenings during the festival. He mentioned waiting to see Kinds of Kindness and Bird as well as Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis.”I cannot miss that. I want to try my best to get into that screening,” he said. Moreover, he supported her competition film All We Imagine As Light by Payal Kapadia for the Palme d’Or which marks a significant moment for Indian cinema
Ayush gave himself up to look forward for some festival movies. Bird and Kinds of Kindness were specifically mentioned by him as well as Megalopolis directed by Francis Ford Coppola”. “I can’t afford losing out on that one; I mean, definitely. That’s something I wanna try…,” Ayush said with enthusiasm when speaking about what movie would be screened any day soon followed by his statement supporting Payal Kapadia’s All We Imagine As Light fighting for Palme d’Or – one more high point in Bollywood history.
Being a true fan of George Miller himself; Ayush ‘s overjoyed by Furiosa premiere but can’t wait to watch Shyam Benegal’s Manthan that is being presented in the Classics section. “I’m a huge fan of George Miller and his movie Mad Max: Fury Road. I must have watched that movie at least 50 times. Furiosa is being premiered there which again I cannot wait to watch,” he point out, emphasizing his eclectic taste in movies.
While Cannes is famous for its film screenings, it also holds a big fashion show. For his first time on the red carpet Ayush engaged the new-age stylist Kudrat Anand but he does not want to reveal much about the look “Well, it’s a surprise and you all will have to wait. I take my fashion game very seriously and I shall see you at the red carpet looking my dapper best!” he commented leaving fans anxiously awaiting for his arrival on this special occasion.
