Indian batsman Rishabh Pant lauds the remarkable performance of India’s athletes at Paris 2024 Olympic Games that saw the country win a total of six medals, one silver and five bronzes.
In his post on social media, Pant thanked the athletes for their commitment and selflessness. He uploaded a video that showed Indian Olympians, shared it via Instagram account and admitted how hard it was to represent their country well in Tokyo.
The message by Rishabh Pant read: “Being an athlete myself I know all have done great sacrifices and difficult things in order to compete at this level for our nation. I am sure everyone must have taken some big lessons from these games. Congratulations to all the winners & participants who played for our nation at highest levels. Best wishes to all of you. Jai hind.”
Unlike the 2020 Tokyo Olympics where he clinched gold, Neeraj Chopra secured a silver medal in javelin throw event during Paris Olympics. Shooter Manu Bhaker won two bronze medals; one in women’s 10m air pistol event and another one with Sarabjot Singh in mixed team 10m air pistol.
Furthermore, the Indian hockey team sustained its strong showing as it secured its second successive bronze medal; Swapnil Kusale also contributed by winning a bronze medal in men’s 50m rifle three-position. Additionally, wrestler Aman Sehrawat brought home a bronze in men’s freestyle wrestling (57 kg).
Rishabh Pant’s post signifies unity among sports persons across various disciplines within India as displayed by Indians competing in various sports but still supporting each other. The achievements made by India’s athletes during the Paris Olympics has been a source of national pride and motivation.
