Arjun Mathur who played the lead role in the film won Best Actor while Anshuman Jha emerged as Best Director at the prestigious UK-Asian Film Festival 2024.
At a crowded theatre last Saturday, a packed house at the historic Regent Street cinema in London, the black comedy thriller was given a standing ovation it truly deserved after having had an exhilarating festival run for six months now.
“It feels like full circle because this is coming from UK. The Asians here, Western identity and immigrants and so we are excited for a win in London,” said Anshuman. “Having shot the film in UK and been travelling around with it all over & now winning on our British Premiere is something I am truly grateful for. Especially for Arjun because I really think this movie is one of his best if not his finest performance till date. Films should be entertaining but also ask questions. Can’t wait to release it later this year.”
“I had decided to become an actor during my time in London back in 2000 and winning this particular award here feels cathartic.” said Arjun Mathur. “Thank you Anshuman for giving me Rohit and placing process first always.” We had such focused Fun doing this movie . He has done exactly what he told me that day he narrated his story to me the first time . We enjoyed ourselves while making this movie together .
