Anurag Kashyap is one director who will never go down without a fight, and this time he means business. According to reports last month, he is preparing for a tough thriller in which Bobby Deol plays the main character. The untitled project, which began shooting in Mumbai recently, will also feature Sanya Malhotra as the lead actress alongside Joju George and Saba Azad.

In other news that has been reported by Peeping Moon, it is known that Sanya Malhotra has joined her earlier co-star from Love Hostel, Shah Rukh Khan’s production house film featuring Bobby Deol which was shot by none other than Anurag Kashyap himself. Joju George an acclaimed actor in Malyalam cinema appears for the first time in Hindi movies here. This marks his transition into Hindi films. Lastly, there is also Saba Azad who played well in Rocket Boys on Sony LIV too. These three actors –Malhotra, George and Azad – have key roles along with Bobby Deol whose characters are tightly enmeshed within the storyline of the film.
While details concerning its plot remain shrouded in secrecy, it nonetheless reportedly revolves around an intense mystery inspired by true events. Therefore viewers can expect a thought-provoking story about an important topic that carries all of Kashyap’s hallmark rawness and grittiness.
The producer’s boots are filled by Nikhil Dwivedi. On writing duties are Sudip Sharma (NH10; Udta Punjab; Paatal Lok; Kohrra) and Abhishek Banerjee (Pari- 2018), who scripted Anushka Sharma’s horror film two years ago.
Filming officially started on May 14, and it will mainly be done in Mumbai, wrapping up by June 2024. The movie is expected to come out at the end of this year as it aims to have a short production time.
