In a heartwarming revelation that generated much hype amongst his fans and followers, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap announced on August 27 Tuesday that he would be returning to Indian movies with the crime-drama Gangs of Wasseypur (GOW).
What, is, Yes, I say this In 2012, the film took the audience by storm and earned critical acclaim and appreciation among fellow film lovers. This announcement gives readers the confirmation that from August 30, the films will re-release for a week all over again. “In three days the Gang will be back again, GOW back in cinemas,” Kashyap wrote. In what is also a healthy development, the filmmaker noted that movie tickets would be sold for a low price of Rs. 149.
Parts one and two of Gangs of Wasseypur are crime dramas based in the coal-rich Wasseypur district of Bihar state in India. The movie depicts the major underworld activities, bloodshed by family, and a thirst for power. The lead cast comprises of Manoj Bajpayee, Huma Qureshi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Richa Chadha.
The re-release of Gangs of Wasseypur comes close on the heels of the announcement of similar plans with respect to other Indian films. Earlier, it was announced that the horror film Tumbbad and the romantic drama Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein will also be attempting to make a theatrical comeback.
