Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, has slammed Congress for “questioning” Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and stressed that each inch is India’s and no power can take it away.
“Mani Shankar Aiyar told us to respect Pakistan because it has the atomic bomb. Few days back, Indian Union leader Farooq Abdullah said don’t talk about Bakshi because Pakistan has the atomic bomb. I I want to tell the Congress party and the Indian Union that PoK belongs to India and no force can take it away,” Shah said while addressing a public meeting in Khunti, Jharkhand.
He stated: “I do not know what happened in Congress. The Congress unanimously passed a resolution and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir became a part of India. You (Congress) have now put a question mark on PoK by talking about atomic bombs. The stance of BJP is clear. Every inch of Pakistan occupied Kashmir belongs to India and will continue to belong to India.
According to him, Congress postponed Article 370 for 70 years but Prime Minister Narendra Modi ended up repealing it.
Asking voters to support BJP, Shah said the JMM-led alliance in Jharkhand was embroiled in corruption.
“The JMM-led alliance is indulging in a Rs 300-crore land scam, a Rs 1,000-crore mining scam, a Rs 1,000-crore MNREGA scam, a Rs 40-crore liquor scam. We will not allow the JMM-led alliance to digest money of poor people”, he added.
Referring to around Rs 350 crore recovered from Lok Sabha MP Kunal Sarangi’s residence at Ranchi along with domestic help of one Alamgir Akhtar who is associated with Jharkhand Congress Minister Alamgir Akhter (sic), he asserted that Rahul Baba’s party looted money from Jharkhanders but it would be returned to the masses.
He accused the JMM and Congress of indulging in “vote bank politics”.
“The Congress party put up a 70-year hurdle in building the Rama temple in Ayodhya, while PM Modi took five years to build the temple… Rahul Baba did not attend the Rama temple Consecration ceremony because he was afraid of his ‘vote bank,’” he said.
“Why were no tribal Presidents ever appointed by Congress?” – this is how he ridiculed against ancient ones as well as Indian Union.
According to him, during the rule of Congress, Maoists were active in Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh’s “jal, jungle and jameen (water forest-land)” exercise rights. “After you appointed Modi as prime minister, he eliminated the Maoist menace and ushered in development,” he said.
The Home Minister insisted that BJP has liberated Jharkhand and Buddhism from Maoists with credit going to Prime Minister Narendra Modi too.
He stated that under BJP regime tribals have been respected and dignified as now Prime Minister has announced celebrating 125th birth anniversary of tribal icon Birsa Munda in 2025 named ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh.’
According to him Birsa Munda fought a war against British whose effects rippled across India but governments of Congress and JMM never gave due treatment to Tribes.
This is why houses are being built by infiltrators in tribal areas and marrying local girls who represent the largest threat to the tribals. The BJP is the only party that can stop them.
The tribal welfare budget has increased from Rs 29,000 crore during Congress government to Rs 1,330 billion under Prime Minister Modi,” he said while adding that 40,000 teachers would be appointed for Eklavya model schools across India where 100,000 children attend 740 such schools.
The Home Minister pointed out that DMFT (District Minerals Foundation Trust) alone is contributing Rs 88,000 crore towards the development of Adivasi areas spread across India.
“The cost of constructing these museums is ₹200 crores, as stated by him. Throughout India, this Modi government is setting up ten museums especially for aboriginals at a cost of Rs.2 billion.
Shah asked people to vote for the BJP candidate and Union Minister Arjun Munda. In the last election, he won with a margin of just over fourteen hundred votes against Kalicharan Munda who was his rival from Congress Party. Khunti polls will be held on May13 along with Lohardaga constituencies; Sinbhum and Palmu seats.
